Oh, those lovely Thanksgiving leftovers!

I know you are tired of those leftovers right now. I know I am! I don't know how many ways to eat turkey sandwiches or mashed potato casseroles. But check out www.retro-food.com for some good inspiration. I know I will!!!

When did plastic shopping bags come ruin our planet?

I miss brown paper bags. From lunch to helping my mother carrying groceries, I miss its plain, but comforting texture.....

I always wondered when plastic bags became the norm. The earliest piece of research I got my hands on was from the book Working Daughters of Hong Kong by Janet Salaff. It's a fascinating book from around the 1970s where Janet and her infant daughter Shana travelled to Hong Kong to interview working daughters of various classes and employment sectors. One of her subjects worked at a plastic bag factory making bags for the Esso gas stations. Does Esso gas still exist? Just asking.....

I always knew plastic took a while to decompose, but not over 200 years! The worst is diapers!!! EWWWWWWWWW..... Can you imagine the George Jeffersons of the future digging up artifacts and asking the next person what this amorphous and foul smelling bag is and he/she says its something that held baby's waste! LOL

Go cloth diapers!

Psycho and Buzz

Derek (bf) and I watched 2 of the Psycho sagas last night. Am I the only one who did not know there were 2 sequels and 1 prequel????? Psycho is one of my all time fave Hitchcock movies and how could I have not known? Easy. Part 2 came out in 1983 ( I was weaning thumb sucking), part III came out in 1986 ( I was in kindergarten), and the prequel came out in 1990 ( suffering from a massive perm).

If you are an 80's fan, you would love the 2 sequels- mullets, pastels, cheesy skinimax nudity (Derek appreciated it =D), and MAJOR product placement. I have never seen so many Ritz boxes in one movie. Yup, Norman Bates loves his peanut butter and Ritz..... Also, the slashing is similar to the first, but you hear more gurgling and stuff. For all you scaredy cats like myself, you will find its not so bad!

I don't think I want to watch the prequel, b/c part III kinda summed up on how Norman became who he is. Oh, if you love E.T., the kid that plays Elliot plays the young Norman, FYI.

Before we watched the movies, Derek and I were testing out this new video game called Buzz, where it comes with 4 controllers for up to 4 players and its trivia at its best.

I have to say the game is pretty awesome. The game is well rounded and without giving away too much of the game, anybody can come back from last place and still win. Derek proved it.

Quality of Kracker Jack prizes lacking? Um, yeah..=(

Did you remember opening a BOX (that's right, not the bagged stuff nowadays) of Kracker Jacks and pulling out the toy prize after digging what seems like forever in that sticky mess???Did you remember how cool the toy was and maybe still have it or them and still think they're the coolest thing ever?? I do, but I am afraid the younger ones now may not in the future....

To be quite honest, the toys nowadays SUCK. Yes, S-U-C-K!

I am very dissappointed in the paper premiums they chose. What kid would even keep such cheap recycled paper to treasure?? Oh, the humanity! If I had not grown up with the good stuff, I would thought the prize was a packet to keep the popcorn fresh!

Oh, how I miss pulling out a plastic shoe or even a bug! =(

Welcome! You are just in time for Cliff, Rudy, Claire, Theo, Vanessa, Denise, and Sondra!

The Cosby Show was one of my favorites growing up, so that's why I put that in there.

Welcome to my blog! As the name suggest, I love collecting kitsch and I want to share what I have with all of you! If you love collecting weird stuff, pop culture, and some funnies along the way, this would be a great read.

Be ready to do the lambda lambda lambda song! (reference from Revenge of the Nerds)
